Faces: Continuing on the "iteration" method of face sculpting, here
are the latest experiments from my work table.
There's also some studies of famous black actors and actresses. I don't know about other people, but left to my own devices all faces I sculpt end up looking Asian. Comes from being half Japanese I guess. I need pictures of real people to study if I'm to sculpt another ethnic group. |

04-26-08: Famous Face Study Sculpting famous faces requires gathering pictures to study while sculpting. I've created a half dozen new famous faces study pages for the claymation project.
04-23-08 Sculpting Known Faces - A review and part of a post to CITY-o-Clay, some tricks to sculpting a "known face". This particular known face is Lex Gigeroff, one of the creators of LEXX. Yes, ClayMates, he's wearing my tiger stripe cowgirl hat with Tiger Cane medalions. That was in 2001 and I'm still laughing. |

04-22-08 The Guys from LA. These are two of the men who are working on the HB4DO claymation project: Dr. D and M.G. We worked like crazy for two days straight. I slept for something like four hours getting the 5 heads on a stick done for the next episode. I have 22 more heads to do before it's all said and done. But at least while I make the 22 other heads I'll be able to get more sleep.
04-20-08 Face Molds: This
is part of the experiment for
HB4DO . The process is
to take a sculpted face, make a mold, and adjust the impressions to get
many faces out of one face mold. After nearly 4 months of computer wrestling, web host changes, Epson pictures to save, this is the first claying I've done. Precipitated by two guys from LA coming up to clay with me for a couple of days for the project. |

04-14-08: Mind Your Business: You Will Lose All The Rights to Your Own Art This article was shared by a CITYzen in CITY-CraftBusinessAdvice, part of the CITY-Lists. I thought I'd share because it effects all of us, not just artists.
