Monthly Highlights 2020
Dec. 31, 2020, 4PM PDT I have officially stepped down from the Steering Committee of the San Francisco Astrological Society. After nearly 10 years of volunteering I am 'clearing the deck' to focus on my fiction writing. |
||
12-30-2020:
My NaNoWriMo
T-Shirt was delivered on Christmas Eve. Each year I celebrate
completing the NaNoWriMo challenge with buying myself a Winner
T-Shirt. Each year I've been able to buy a T-shirt one size smaller
than last year, thanks to staying on Keto. My 45 year old son was wearing one of my older NaNoWriMo T-Shirts and I said "We're Winner Twins." and he replied, "No, I'm a plagiarist." He always makes me laugh. |
||
12-28-2020: I'm rebuilding AuntyAlias.Com to be a place for my writing fiction. Long story short: The WordPress platform got buggy. I tired to fix it and it got worse. Axed the old WP and installed a new one. You can read all the boring details in the new blog. |
||
12-27-2020: AuntyAlias.Com WordPress platform has been removed. I don't know if I'm going to rebuild it with Ipage as a webhost because they seem to have removed the automatic WordPress button. I'm still poking about to figure it out. Some plug-ins got bugged. I don't have much luck with WordPress Platforms.
Update: I am stepping down from volunteering for the San Francisco Astrological Society as of January 2021. For astrologers: Transiting Pluto in Capricorn is exactly conjunct my Natal Jupiter in my 1st house, coming to a trine with my Venus in Virgo. I've been writing a piece of fiction since 2017 and I am putting my energies in that going forward. |
||
NOTIFICATION: Yahoo Groups closed down December 15, 2020. All the links on this site that point to CITY-o-Clay or any other Yahoo Group will not work. I'm not going to go over hundreds of web pages to remove those links. There are many links on this site that point to defunct photo storage web accounts, old blogs that got hacked, old websites that were used for research that no longer exist. It's just the nature of a site that started almost 20 years ago with GeoCities. Remember GeoCities? One was only supposed to have one GeoCities site and I had three. I didn't even have a digital camera and had to scan my polymer clay miniatures that made the colors all weird. When GeoCities was going to shut down the extra sites I decided to buy a domain name and find a webhost. That's how this site got started. I had photos stored in a couple of photo storage sites that shut down and there were mad scrambles to get copies of the photos and put some of them up on this site. HDD space was small back in the day and external HDDs were non-existant. Saving photos was always a wild ride. I used FrontPage software and used the themes, little mini pre-fabs that looked like WordPress platforms before WordPress existed, and when that software was retired and the themes no longer supported it caused me no small amount of hassle to fix those parts of this website. Those FrontPage extensions still give me grief at times when trying to edit this site. ExpressionsWeb was the next software I used to add content to this website. I have had a number of WordPress subdirectories and now only have one remaining AuntyAlias.com and that might be retired because I don't use it that often and I'm at a cross roads of what I want to do creatively. In January 2021 I am stepping down from volunteering with the San Francisco Astrological Society after nearly 10 years. Since 2017 I've been working on a fictive series K-Rave and want to put more time into writing. Will I use the WordPress blog to share K-Rave or will I share it here on my main site as static HTML pages? I don't know right now. "Change is the only constant in life." or some such saying. This site has gone through a lot of changes in these nearly 20 years and the closing down of the Yahoo Groups is just another chapter of online life that ended. |
||
Completed the NaNoWriMo 2020 Challenge - December 1, 2020: I participated in NaNoWriMo in November and wrote 50K words by November 27, 2020. K-Rave is turning into a series that has new characters who needed personal histories and a reason for being there.
Update: My son, Tosh, said he will pay to keep my website and blog up. Other friends (you know who you are) have come forward to help out in ways that will help me reduce my expense overflow by half. Having an 8th house stellium comes in handy in a pinch. <3
10-26-2020: I am shutting down this
website as of October 31st because of financial problems. I don't
sell any artwork and am not doing astrology readings for a fee. I
will keep my domains of norajean.com and auntyalias.com in case my
finances improve and I get a new webhost. I have no complaints with my current webhost Ipage. Because of the pandemic I am not renting out the room in my apartment and my income comes short of my expenses every month. I am also letting go of all streaming services and services like Amazon Prime because of these financial difficulties. |
||
BOOKS 8-19-2020 - I've accepted a challenge on Facebook where I share the book cover of a book I like, no review, no additional information. I'm going to add these 7 books here on my website, if they aren't already added to my book index. I'll probably recycle some of my favorites in the Books section.
8-19-2020:
Each year I do a fund raiser on Facebook for
OTYO. This year we
raised $403. This is the only money raised for OTYO since the
pandemic started, so every dollar counts. US 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization OTYO! (A Sigh of Relief) believes that by providing financial and technical support to community based organizations (CBOs) in rural Uganda, the quality of life and health of women, adolescents and orphans living in these communities can be greatly improved. |
||
August 13, 2020: I am starting this
Keto
index finally. Not much there but it's a start. |
||
August
13, 2020: I'll be building a Face Mask section soon. I sewed around 50 face masks for family and friends. I need to gather the pictures and put them up in the to-be built folder. |
||
All Blog Post links are broken. Latest blog post: Coming up for air – with a face mask Posted on Update on the painting of the apartment, why I'm not renting the room, the start and end of the TEFL Certification adventure, and I forget what all else. Go read it if you're curious. |
||
2020 -
April-May-June-July Not much happening during these months. Except Keto |
||
March 2020 | ||
Update - 03-19-2020: Because of the shelter in place order
for the CoVid-19 pandemic I am not renting my room at this time.
I'll be posting when it will be available. For now, all of you take
care of yourselves: wash your hands, keep your hands off of your
face, and practice social distancing. |
||
03-19-2020: Happy Spring Equinox. Even though the observation of the Equinox was cancelled at Stonehenge that doesn't change the fact that today the daylight and night are of equal lengths. |
||
